The NATO Secretary General, Mr. Jens Stoltenberg, will attend a Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, on 08 September 2022. The meeting is hosted by the U.S. Secretary of Defense, Lloyd J. Austin III, and will focus on the ongoing crisis in Ukraine and the related security issues facing NATO Allies and partners.
The Secretary General will also visit the Headquarters of the Allied Air Command (AIRCOM) in Ramstein.

Earlier this year, Allies agreed to enhance NATOâs presence in the east of the Alliance by establishing four new multinational battlegroups in Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia (in addition to the existing battlegroups in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, which have been in place since 2017).
